Preface And yup still on the mini-bus to Mt. Bromo. I think I’m getting a little car sick…
Finally a day of rest! 2 days with Putu despite being on a van is still pretty damn tiring.
Nothing really to note for this day other than the awesomeness of the Conrad beach huts. I swear I’d be able to sleep in one of those all day long if I could. The “beach” at the Conrad is barely a beach so we didn’t find too many people in there but we did do the obligatory swim there. The pool lagoon is pretty wild and is apparently the longest resort lagoon in Bali. It stretches from literally one end of the resort to the other.
The Flying Fish
The only real activity we did that day was paying 300,000 IDR to ride on the Flying Fish. He originally asked for 500,000 for the both of us but we talked him down. I had never seen one of these before but literally you’re on this inflatable raft which has slots for your body to fully lie down on. You hold on to these side rails and the boat drags you out and as it picks up speed the Flying Fish lifts up into the air. There’s also a guy on the raft with you who has to balance the weight of the Flying Fish to ensure that the thing doesn’t flip over. We got 3 runs out of it. I would recommend! The funny thing after is that we totally miscounted our bills to pay them after the ride was over. Instead of 300,000 IDR we had 30,000 IDR on us LOL. Totally embarrassing. I had to run to the hotel and back to get the right amount.
Dinner at Bumbu Bali was great. They had their own shuttle service which you can get concierge to get for you and no tips are required.
- Most local restaurants have free shuttles that will take you from your hotel to the restaurant so check first before grabbing a cab.
- Bumbu Bali is great if you’re in the Nusa Dua area. The restifiah??? set menu is good for first timers but I will have to say that the satay is their best item out of the Resstiasf???
