In February 2013, I introduced how you can get free Hilton Honors points through the TopGuest program. Here’s a quick check-in on how things have been going.
I’ve been diligently checking into my local Doubletree daily for over half a year now and I’m happy to announce that I’ve hit 10,000 free points by using TopGuest alone. Yup that’s right 10,000.
- Initially I thought it’d be a problem checking in from the Doubletree from home but it really hasn’t been an issue at all. I thought daily check ins for almost everyday of the year would be flagged but so far I haven’t been.
- I’ve pretty much built this into my daily routine to check in on FourSquare. The only annoyance I’m sure is for the free friends that I did end up adding on FourSquare. They’re probably wondering why the heck i’m checking into the Doubletree everyday.
- When I first started doing this I thought, “Man, collecting an amount that will actually amount to something useful will take forever” but to put things into perspective. I stayed at a Doubletree back in January for one night and collected 2600 points. With TopGuest I’ve been able to collect almost 4 nights worth of stay for zero cost. Not too shabby right? Onwards to 50,000, 100,000 and then the world! muhahahahaha…
What the heck is TopGuest?
Looking back, this was a pretty sweet program but unfortunately it’s since been closed. If you’re curious to know more about it, search “TopGuest” on Google.
I have some bad news for you guys and it’s that TopGuest was acquired by a company called Switchfly late last year and have fully shut down the program. It was a good run while it lasted right? I have a new strategy that I’ve been using to get free Hilton points which i’ll post up soon but it is somewhat a bit more work.
