If you’re in the airline industry then you’re in luck because Hilton is offering a pretty substantial discount for their properties outside of the United States. It’s a bit of a secret code but anyone that is airline staff will be able to take advantage.
Get up to 50% off hotel rates with Hilton properties by using this discount link.
What You Need To Know About The Discount Code
It’s actually quite easy to book with the Hilton airline staff rate but from my playing around with it, the discount in rates is a bit all over and not all properties offer it.
A few things you should know about this promotion:
- You MUST have valid airline employee ID available at check-in. They will check.
- This rate is not prepaid and is cancelable up to 48 hours to 4PM before your arrival.
- This promotion is only meant to be for properties outside of the US.
- These stays will not qualify for accumulation of points.
- The rates are only available within 90 days from time of search.
How To Get The Discount
Step 1: Go to the Hilton search page
On this page, enter your hotel search parameters. The promotion code is already entered in so you’re good to go. Remember these are for properties outside of the US.
Step 2: Review the search results
What you’ll notice is that not all hotels have this discount and the way you tell is that you’re searching for is “Promotion/Offer Code”
My theory is that the airline staff discount only applies to hotels that already have pre-existing contracts with airlines but I could be wrong. That is why you don’t see this on all Hilton properties.
Step 3: Book your room
When you go to your room booking page, you’ll see “Airline Staff Rate” selected and that’s a second confirmation that you’re getting the special discount.
Step 4: Complete your booking
After that the rest is the same as everything else in terms of room bookings. Again just make sure you have your Airline ID with you and you’re all set!
Examples of Properties and Rates
So with all of the conditions on this, where have I seen this work and where can you get some serious discounts? I’ve gone through a few big cities that are either popular destinations or part of Hilton’s aspirational set of hotel properties to give you a feel for how good this discount is.
Keep in mind that these are specific to the random dates that I’ve selected.
Conrad Bangkok Residences
Roughly a 28% discount here which is really amazing considering this is a Conrad property in the heart of Bangkok.
Itching to go back to the Conrad Maldives after our first epic trip, I was curious to see what the daily rates were and it’s actually not that crazy. The discount you see isn’t as big as I thought it’d be because there’s a member summer sale but what you’re seeing here is still a 21% discount.
DoubleTree London – West End
London’s a pretty common place you’ll be looking for hotels especially with it being a popular European hub. London is expensive to stay so ever little bit helps with this 18% discount.
Hilton Bali Resort
Sadly the Conrad Bali wasn’t an option but the Hilton Bali is just as impressive. This an example of where the 1% discount is minimal when compared against the Honors Discount.
Hilton Cape Town City Centre
As you know we were just in South Africa last year so I was curious to see what the rates were like. This property is awesomely located and you get a 34% discount which is sweet!
Hilton Garden Inn Rome Claridge
What about another European city like Rome? Well I found this Garden Inn available at a 12% discount.
Hilton Seychelles Northolme
Last but not least is one of the properties we recently stayed at for our honeymoon. Now this is an amazing discount of 30% and that’s with the summer sale going on. If you match it against the original price, it gets even better.
If you work for any airline and you’re a fan of the Hilton brand, definitely make sure take advantage of this discount by booking through here. It’s hit or miss as you might not get a discount for the specific hotel you’re looking for but if you’re flexible, add this to your trip planning steps when you’re trying to find the best travel deals.
