20 BEST NORTH YORK RESTAURANTS

North York is one of those neighbourhoods that makes up the amalgamated Greater Toronto Area. It’s bordered by Steeles in the north, the Humber River to the west, Victoria Park to the east.

You’ll find some of the most exciting and international cuisines here. To help you in your quest to find the best eats in Toronto, these are the best North York restaurants you absolutely must try.

KONJIKI RAMEN

If you’ve watched our Japan series and seen the best ramen in Tokyo, you’ll know that one of my favourites was the ridiculously good clam soup base of Konjiki Hototogisu.

BABEL

Located in the upscale Bridal Path area, this is certainly an unexpected North York restaurant that brings their food to life with their live-fire cooking.

Dal Dong Nae is authentic to a tee including the nostalgic decor that originates from the name itself which is a nod to the government-sanctioned slums built during the Korean War.

MANTRA

Mantra is basically everything you’ve loved about The Host but with a more modern spin and in both the menu, decor, and atmosphere.

PROJECT:FISH

The other style you’ll see is oshizushi which is pressed torched sushi which always comes out nice and rectangular. Their focus is on the quality of the fish, unique garnishes, and well-presented.

KATSUYA

The traditional Japanese dish where they take something like a pork cutlet, bread it with panko, deep fry it, and then serve it with a thick tonkatsu sauce, with a bed of rice, and shredded cabbage.
