How to Get Around
- A lot of Seville’s neighbourhoods are best seen on foot! But, if you are trying your best to see as much as possible, they have an amazing “rent-a-bike system” called Sevici. They have 2,500 bicycles across 250 stations in the city. Short-term subscriptions are available for visitors at a cost of €13.33. They do require a deposit of €150 which is refunded at the end of the subscription!
- Public transportation is also a great choice for getting from neighbourhood to neighbourhood. Seville has buses, trams and a metro. The buses are your best choice to get to the main travel attractions featuring circular bus lines (C1, C2, C3 & C4). Tussam buses run from 6am to 11:30pm and a standard ticket is €1.40 but a range of passes are also available.
- Driving definitely isn’t your best choice! It’s hardly worth the struggle of driving through narrow streets and renting a car. Taxis are common and would set you back about €8 to get across the city center in daylight hours.
Essential Travel Tips
- Plug adapters – For Spain there are two associated plug types, types C and F. Plug type C is the plug that has two round pins and plug type F is the plug that has two round pins with two earth clips on the side. Spain operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.
- Currency – The currency is based on the Euro. Also known as EUR or €. 2€, 1€, 50c, 20c, 10c, 5c, 2c, and 1c coins. The euro banknotes go from 500€ (purple), 200€ (yellow), 100€ (green), 50€ (brown), 20€ (dark blue), 10€ (red), to 5€ (light blue). All notes are the same on both sides though each one has a different color.

- What to pack – Comfortable shoes for all the walking you will do. For the summer, pack lighter clothes and sunscreen. Seville is one of the hottest cities in Europe, be ready to brave the heat.
