IHG Hotel Corporate Codes
Since we’ve covered Hilton, Hyatt, Radisson, Best Western, and Marriott hotel corporate codes, it’s time to move on to the next largest family of hotels, IHG, or InterContinental Hotels Group.
Read next: If you want to see them all together, there is a compilation of all and the best hotel corporate codes.
This a guide for anyone looking to save money on hotel stays around the world. This won’t be helpful for those looking to spend their loyalty points but instead spending cash for confirmed stays.
Corporate rates are available across the entire portfolio of IHG properties including Holiday Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Crowne Plaza, Indigo, Staybridge Suites, Candlewood Suites, Kimpton, Regent, and InterContinental.
When you get to scroll through the list of IHG corporate codes below, you’ll see that these can provide a significant savings over the rack rate.
List of IHG corporate codes
Here is a full listing of IHG hotel corporate codes for your information.
To make things are clear as possible, we wanted to present the codes with an average discount to give you a sense of how “good” it is.
The methodology
Out of all the hotel brands, IHG’s discounts are the most confusing to decipher because they almost seem completely random.
The problem is this: Even within the same city but between different Holiday Inn properties, the discounts were different. Between cities it was different. The discount rates were also all over the place.
I still wanted to take a data-driven approached so I chose to focus on 4 cities: Toronto, Washington, D.C., Frankfurt, and Tokyo.
For each city, I chose several hotel brands, ranging from low to high to calculate the amount of discount each code would provide.
This list of IHG hotel corporate codes are also the most updated in that any codes that didn’t do anything anymore, I discarded.
List of hotel corporate codes
IHG corporate codes are 9 digits, with leading zeroes if they don’t start with a non-zero number.
These are sorted alphabetically by the company/organization that they’re associated with for full transparency.
TIP: Each of the links will copy the code to your computer’s clipboard so you can paste it and it will also take you to the IHG booking page with the code already entered to save you time.
Good to know: The advantage of the corporate codes is that they offer free cancellation up until 6:00 PM hotel time on the day of your reservation.
Observations about how these codes work
There are quite a number of interesting things I learned about these IHG hotel corporate codes.
- The discounts are all over the place – sometimes working across the board but some being region-specific or brand-specific.
- Existing “Save More” sales – These public promotions almost always override the discount you can get with a corporate code.
- Discounts aren’t round numbers – Without an understanding of the actual algorithm, I can say that the discounts aren’t easy 5%, 10%, 15% off values.
- Great in some countries and terrible in others – There are several codes that are absolutely amazing in Tokyo but barely work in Toronto so you just have to try it out.
Which corporate discount code is the best?
I get it. It’s a long list. Ultimately, we just want to know which is the best code to try.
Unfortunately, these are impossible to rank because of the high degree of variability but in looking at the numbers, there’s no denying that these are the top 7 to use.
- 000150711 – AT&T
- 000103772 – Ford
- 000102806 – General Electric
- 000243132 – IBM
- 000104256 – Siemens
- 000108146 – UPS
- 00293512 – Walmart
If you really want to make sure you’re getting the best deal, your best bet is to try a bunch of these codes on your own. It won’t take as long as you think.
Understanding that the cities selected don’t cover the world and that the average calculation is quite basic, you might find the spreadsheet below useful to do your own number crunching.
How to enter an IHG corporate code
Entering a IHG hotel corporate code is quite easy. Here are the steps to put in the code once you land on the IHG website.
Head to the homepage and look for “Corporate ID”. If you don’t see it right away, start entering your search information and it will show up.
The results won’t make it obvious whether your code worked or not but if you entered it right, you should start seeing the cheaper rates show up.
Note that it also won’t tell you if the code you enter isn’t valid.
Even when you get to the next steps to look at the room selections, it still won’t tell you whether the rate you’re looking at is a corporate discounted rate. Be patient as you’ll find out in the next step.
It isn’t until you get to one of the final pages after you’ve selected a room that it’ll give you a hint of what company the code is for.
In the above, you’ll see that Walmart actually has two separate corporate rates that apply with the one code. The lowest rate does ask for proof of eligibility.
Different hotel brands may lead you to a different hotel page such as this one for InterContinental.
Can anyone use these codes?
Simple answer: No, they’re designed for those affiliated with the company that the code is for.
More in depth: Keep on reading…
In a similar way to the best car rental coupon codes, hotel corporate codes work in the same way. As long as you’re affiliated with the company (ie. employee, vendor, customer), you can take advantage of these discounts.
What this comes down to is how well IHG enforces the checking of ID.
So how often do staff ask for ID? Compared to Hilton and Marriott, IHG is much less strict about checking ID. Anecdotally, most people have never been checked for the hotel corporate codes you’ll find below.
Can I still collect IHG One Rewards points?
Yes, one of the benefits of using an IHG corporate code is that you will still be eligible to collect IHG One Rewards (previously IHG Rewards Club) points.
What do I need to prove affiliation with the company?
Oddly enough, IHG does not have a clear statement about the use of corporate ID/corporate account numbers when booking.
Furthermore, if you go through all booking steps there’s typically no mention about requiring ID at check-in. However, if you look at the use of the Walmart code in the “How to enter an IHG corporate code” section, you’ll see that there could be some rates that do explicitly specify.
If we follow the requirements for Hilton and Marriott, and you want to be prepared, make sure to have on-hand a business card, work badge, work-email printout that you’re affiliated with the company and the associated code you’re using.
What If I Don’t Want To Use Corporate Codes?
If you’d like to stay on the safer side of things, there are still ways you can save money with IHG.
The basic way are through the public promotions that IHG offers throughout the year so it’s worth checking their deals page.
If you’re a member of AAA, CAA, or AARP, there are always discounts available and additional details are down below.
Another way to save money is through Perkopolis. If you work for a company that provides Perkopolis membership, you can save at least 20% with IHG Hotels & Resorts properties.
IHG One Rewards discounts
The focus of hotel brands is to get their IHG One Rewards members (previously IHG Rewards Club) to book directly with them and with that, they try to offer good discounts and savings.
IHG offers Member Exclusive Rates which are open to anyone without having to use a hotel corporate code.
If you look at the below, GE’s corporate code has the best discount but the Member Exclusive Rate is quite competitive compared to AAA/CAA and the Senior Discount.
Special IHG promotions
Every quarter IHG has new promotions.
Most of these offers are geared towards IHG Rewards Club members so make sure to join if you haven’t already yet.
Check the latest IHG hotel deals
The first place you should always look to see what’s happening is the page below.
Public IHG discount codes
If you’ve been looking around for IHG corporate codes, you might’ve found other codes such as ones for bonus points, package/theme rates, opaque rates, and discount rates to name a few.
Most of these are quite old and outdated but I can see these being used. Often times these are part of quarterly promotions that have special codes associated to them.
Personally, I don’t think these are too valuable to keep track of because they change so frequently and for the most part you can find these deals on IHG itself or through their mailing list when they promote new deals.
AAA, CAA, and AARP Senior discounts
Auto Discount
Almost every hotel chain has offers for special memberships and seniors.
For those that have a AAA or CAA membership, you are also entitled to savings by checking off “AAA/CAA Rate” under Rate Preference or go to this page.
There’s no official % discount with membership but typically its 5% but can be greater.
Your membership card must be presented at check-in.
Senior Discount
If you are 62 or older, you’re eligible for the senior discount. You don’t nee to be a member of AARP for this membership so anyone is eligible. The discount is 15%-30% off rack rate.
To get the senior discount, you can check off “Senior Discount” under Rate Preference or go to this page.
Gaining Status
The traditional way of building up status with IHG One Rewards is to complete stays with their properties. This is a slow way to get to Silver, Gold, Platinum, or Diamond. For most, it’s nearly impossible unless you travel for business.
For a short time from now until July 31, 2024, those that work at these companies can instantly get upgraded to Silver status which is valid through the end of 2024. The main benefit of Silver is:
- 20% bonus points
- Points don’t expire
If you already have Silver status, you can instead opt to get Bonus Elite Night Credits make each night you stay count twice (up to 15), which can make a huge difference for you to get to the next tier or Milestone Reward.
Click on your company’s name to access the special page.
Price matching
Something that isn’t well advertised is IHG’s Best Price Guarantee.
Here’s how it works.
If you find a lower rate for the same hotel, room type and dates (with somewhere like Booking.com), they’ll match at and also give you 5x the IHG Rewards Club points (up to a maximum of 40,000)
All you have to do is submit a claim form.
This program doesn’t apply in Mainland China, Macau, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Travel Resources For Your Next Trip
If you’re in the process of planning your trip and putting together your itinerary, these are genuinely the best resources that the Going Awesome Places team stands by 100%.
Credit cards: Don’t get burned by hidden fees on top of terrible exchange rates. When we travel now, we use the Wise Card. Simply load it with the currency you need before you go and use it as a regular VISA or their digital wallet card. Use their free app to track how much you have and top up when you need to.
Flights: Of all the booking search engines, Skyscanner is the most helpful and easy to use thanks to their Everywhere feature. Kayak is also another that’s we will often check as well.
Car Rental: If you’re looking to save money, these car rental coupon codes will be a true game-changer. Otherwise, DiscoverCars and RentalCars are great places to start.
Airport Parking: You’ll need a spot to leave your car at the airport so why not book a spot at a discount. Use code AWESOME7 to get at least $5 off at Airport Parking Reservations or Park Sleep Fly packages.
Data: We’ve been a huge fan of wifi hotspot devices like PokeFi because their rates are so good and you can use it globally but recently, we’ve really loved using eSIMs. The best one is Airalo. Save money by getting region-specific eSIMs and use referral code WILLIA9500 to get $3 USD credit on your first purchase. Ubigi is another one that we’ve had success with where they uniquely offer 5G coverage. Use code AWESOME10 to save 10% on your first order.
Hotels: Our go-to is Booking.com because they have the best inventory of properties including hotels and B&Bs plus they have their Genius tier discounts. The exception is Asia where Agoda always has the best prices. TripAdvisor is also useful for reviews and bookings.
Vacation Rentals: Your first instinct will be to check Airbnb but we always recommend checking VRBO as well if you’re looking for a vacation rental.
Tours: When planning our trips, we always check both Viator and GetYourGuide to at least see what’s out there in the destination that we’re going to. They often have different offerings and prices so check both.
Travel Insurance: Learn how to buy the best travel insurance for you. This isn’t something you want to travel without.
- Insured Nomads – Popular insurance provider for frequent travelers and comes with great coverage and special perks.
- RATESDOTCA – Search engine Canadians looking for the cheapest insurance including multi-trip annual policies.

Are these corporate codes only supposed to be used for business trips? Ie if I book for myself and my wife and/or child is it more likely to raise suspicion and trigger and ID check?
William Tang says
Corporate codes are meant for employees of companies and most are for official business trips. ID checks are frequent so you’ll want to make sure you’re prepared.
